Perpetual users will finally become property owners

As of January 1, 2019, the liquidation of perpetual usufruct - a form of ownership specific to Polish law that is somewhat flawed. A perpetual usufruct user used to receive the right to use real estate for 99 years. At the end of this period, he could apply for its renewal for additional years (no less than 40). The landowner, however, could not agree to this.

Currently, a perpetual usufructuary can apply to the relevant public administration body to convert the right into ownership.
