Great steps are approaching the jubilee - X International Factoring Congress (Warsaw, 19.09.2019)! All details related to the course and organization of this most important event for the industry can be found at a dedicated Congress website prepared by the PZF.
I encourage all Blog readers to attend the event, as the legal emphasis of the Congress will be a Panel discussion: "Legislative Offensive in Poland and Europe - an Opportunity or a Threat?" tentatively scheduled for 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. This Panel will cover a number of important legal changes (many of which have already been described on the Blog) - especially those concerning the expanded mandatory Split Payment, the White List of VAT Taxpayers, virtual assignment accounts, the Jam Law, the Free Invoices Campaign, etc. The Panel will be moderated by Attorney Ewa Guzowska (Partner at KGK Kancelaria Radcowska E.Guzowska i Ska, Sp.k.), and the panelists will be:
- Tadeusz Białek (Director of the Legal and Legislative Team of the Polish Bank Association),
- Zbigniew Makowski (Deputy Director of the Goods and Services Tax Department of the Ministry of Finance),
- Artur Krzykowski (Managing Partner of AKLegal),
- Bartosz Nadra (Managing Partner of Jaskowiak Nadra Advocates - author of the Blog),
- Tomasz Wagner (EY Senior Manager).
For anyone interested in legal developments in the industry, this will also be an interesting Panel because of the opportunity to hear the opinions of several people, each representing a point of view specific to the scope of their services and their specialty.
In addition, I am very pleased to announce that I have supported the PZF in the development of the PZF Almanac for 2019, distributed annually at the Congress, with regard to the legal part. The Almanac will include two articles of my authorship:
- Factoring fraud - mechanisms and trends;
- Legal changes affecting the factoring industry in 2019.
Thank you for the credit given by the PZF and I hope that at least some of you will get through the legal part of the Almanac. For attentive readers of the Blog, much of the second article will be a refresher of previous knowledge.
See you at the Congress!
