Debt collection law "to the freezer"

Like reports Puls Biznesu "According to our information, the project authored by Marcin Warchol, Deputy Minister of Justice, which was heavily criticized not only by the industry, but also inside the government, ended up on the list of those laws which, as too controversial, will not be further processed. (...) The bill was placed on the list of controversial bills within the coalition, i.e. those that may cause internal strife, and went to the so-called "freezer. It contains a great many elements that could be counter-productive and hit the electorate, i.e. the elderly, for example. Therefore, it is very risky and has been blocked," the vice president of the listed debt collection company tells PB."

The law was supposed to come into force on January 1, 2023. Meanwhile, it has not even been subjected to the first reading in the Sejm, due to the scale of the controversy and the multitude of industry positions that substantively pointed out the problems that the vague provisions could cause, also in terms of limiting access to the industry and its apparent regulation. A week ago, a consensus conference was held with the strong involvement of the ZPF, which is one of the main trade associations of the financial industry, including the debt collection industry, which was strongly represented there.
